Smart Hands provide professional services in Dubai
What did the client ask for?
Her request was simple. She wanted shelves built inside her store room so she could keep all items in one place. She also told us she did not want doors on the shelves. She wanted a curtain in front of them instead.
How did we understand the job?
We asked her for the details. She sent us a video of the store room and explained in it what she wanted. This helped us a lot. A video shows the size of the room, the walls and the space better than words can.
After the video we sent one of our experts for a visit. He took the measurements of the walls and the space for the shelves. We never build shelves from guesswork. Even a small mistake in the size can leave a gap or a shelf that does not fit.
How did we give the quote?
After the visit we worked out the cost of the material and the work. Then we sent her a fair quote. She agreed to the quote and asked us to start the job.
What happened on the day?
We collected all the material that the job needed and sent two carpenter experts to her apartment. They worked carefully and took care of her property while they worked. They did these jobs:
- Built and fixed the shelves inside the store room
- Installed the curtain in front of the shelves
Her family could keep using the apartment while the work was going on. The team left the place neat after the work was finished.
Why did she choose a curtain and not doors?
Many people ask for doors on shelves. But doors need space to open and they cost more. A curtain is simple. You pull it to one side and you can see everything on the shelves at once. It also hides the items when the curtain is closed. For a store room this is a good and easy choice.
What did the client say?
“She was very happy with the service. She sent us a WhatsApp message to say how happy she was. She also gave a gift to our team. She told us that she will give us more work soon. We are thankful for her trust.”

How can you plan shelves for your own store room?
You can plan the shelves yourself before you call a carpenter. This saves time and gives you a better result.
- Measure the space. Write down the width, the height and the depth of the wall where the shelves will go
- Make a list of your items. Count boxes, bags, tools and cleaning things. This tells you how many shelves you need
- Think about weight. Heavy items need strong shelves and a strong fixing in the wall
- Plan the height of each shelf. Measure your tallest box and leave a little space above it
- Take a video like our client did. Show the walls, the corners and any pipes or switches in the room
| Item type | Best place on shelf |
| Heavy boxes and tools | Bottom shelf |
| Things you use every week | Middle shelves at hand height |
| Light items and seasonal things | Top shelf |
If your store room has uneven walls or you are not sure about the weight, call a carpenter. A shelf that is not fixed well can fall and damage your things.
